Compiling / Skybox prob

Post by UZZIEL »

Today I tried to correct all my brushes.

Before I changed anything on the map I corrceted the Skybrush of My Skybox so it couldnt Leak.

To test the result I opened the Mbuilder like always and my compiling process seemed to became a neverending story. The second line after Visdata was getting slower and slower. Somewhere @ 90% it was 10 times slower on count like before (8min). The whole compile process was about 10min.

The suspicious part is that before the sky was moved/modified, the whole compile process dured about 30sek.

As a try I removed the sky leaving the walls and floor - all seemed like before about 30sek compile. LOL?

What is goin on? :?
Any suggestions?

Its time for bed after 18 hours mapping extreme.

If your map has a leak, the vis compile is skipped which makes the compile much faster. However, a map that isn't vised will have bad framerates and no radiosity.

thx JV Guru MASTA - hehehe

I detailed every brush on my map - everything is cool - not about 30 seks compiling time, but with 1 min im also satisfied.

Meanwhile are you not bored to answer all my noobish questions?
In short time you can make a tut called "Raise of a Noob" including all my questions - hehehehee.
