Re: compile errors would not compile

Problem was had the map "diced up" with too many walkable buildings that I could not "seal" with area portals.

Solution: Removed some buildings and replaced them with solid brushes or static objects.

this i had as well, but apart from removing buildings or making some brushes detail (which i did and it lowered it a tiny bit.) I followed a tut regarding using vis_groupleaf brushes and my visdata size went from 8200000 to 1500000, great stuff :P

Yes Trinculo... you are probably using a fence texture on a brush, and at the same time using other textures than nodraw or fence on the other surfaces.

Basically: Put the fence texture on one surface of the brush, and common/nodraw on all the others....

Actually I think you used a fence texture (i.e. a window, a treeline, a fence) on a brush that has a relugar texture or caulk.

this topic should be locked, cleaned and then updated only by moderators.

Once a good idea, this now becomes a place you won't search for compile errors because of too many off-topic posts, discussions about maybe-compile-errors and so on.

it makes no sense to tell about a error HERE, if no solution can be presented.
