Ladders

Post by Yossarian »

I can't get off the top of my friggin ladder. I've got the whole angle thing down, but no matter what I do I cannot get off the top of my latter onto my platform. I've made the func_ladder go a ffew bits higher than the platform, doens't do it. What's the trick?

If you've done your ladder as described in the tut, then it might be because of the ceiling height in the upper floor: If it's too low, your player won't climb the whole ladder upwards but stops before reaching the upper end.

Headroom

Yes, there must be headroom to get off the ladder, If you have to you can make the brush that is block it a script_object and set it to not solid.

The plate should be thicker to make getting on at the top easier. For the angle, just pretend you are standing where it say U|D and hit the angle you are facing to climb the ladder at the bottom in the 2d top view.
