my first map (revised)
Well, I made alot of changes and I think I'm ready to give it to a few people for playtesting. It is an objective map for MOHAA, allies start at the bottom of a small village and must fight their way up to the church to blow up a radio. It's very basic but I'm looking for how it well it is balanced and any mapping errors you might see. Here are the screenshots:
oops.. stupid me they're all too big. I'll fix 'em.
If you want the pk3, ask and you'll receive, or I might just make it public... haven't decided.

no, I didn't edit the pics in photoshop. I was using a friend's (very fast) computer, so the fps is actually that fast... on his computer anyway. As per the sidewalks, I'll look into that (maybe I shoulda thought ahead and designed it into the map).
And: here's the pk3 for all who might want it. I only request that you give me any feedback (pm me or something) about it.
Just goto:

and it's hidden away at the bottom of the page under all the screenshots.

Nice for a first map.
I don't understand why ppl first maps are usually MP maps, not SP. I mean SP are more challenging than MP, and MP are more common. My first map was an SP map.
I think it's the scripting they're afraid of.
Not talking about you nihilo.

I can answer for my reasons for not making SP maps, rox:
- As a n00b mapper I did the easiest possible: a DM map... learning Radiant was hard enough, and that scripting stuff sounded ever so complicated.
- Most ( All? ) SP maps are played once, maby twice... I cant really motivate myself to put down the huge work that is needed to make a map, for people to play it once and throw it away.
- I always hurry through the SP missions of a game, but it is the multiplayer maps that keeps me coming back for more.

I'm still waiting for my SubAttack to be compiled AND TESTED. HMMM, I WONDER WHERE IS BUTCH WITH SUBATTACK? *cough cough*
lol
btw, you should use simple patch meshes and edit the ground to look like they're eroded and uneven. But it affects fps, so it's ur choice.
