I need to select some script objects WITHIN this box-type-thingy (NOT hollow). How could I do this? For you see, whenever I try to select it, it selscts everything around it too.

Select one of the brushes that make up the script_object, then press ctrl + e to select all the brsuhes for that object.
This also works for other entities such as a func_group.

You could temporarily filter world brushes with Alt+1 and Detail brushes with Ctrl+d, then things hidden in them become visible.
