Played the campaign and had alot of fun. Its true though, this was hard. On Iron Tusk, I managed to crash MOHAA though, and thought I'd report it. The error I got was:
---------------------------
Tried to read from a zip file models/gear/german_sentryhelmet.tik that was not open
This may be just my copy of MOHAA: seems like you wouldn't have done anything to a german sentry's helmet. (I had just finished sniping him, though..)

Finished it (no cheats).
Those were some bad nazis, they took grenades, sniper bullets and shotgun blasts like pros. You learn early that it is by no means dirty to shoot a man while he's down. Pretty fun nonetheless, you gotta have sharp eyes to spot some of those guys (especially those nasty, nasty tree snipers). It was a fun challenge (even found some of the secrets) but often it was only mad skillz that allowed any sort of passage. Sometimes I would kill a guy spot that he had health and run into the open like a mad fool just to pick up his precious health.
There are a few mapping errors throughout the levels but with they being so big and all it's understandable that they might not be spotted.
That said, it should be MUCH more obvious that you have to blow the door open in Iron Tusk to get into the last building. Spent 5 good minutes trying to find some way in there and it was only just a random grenade in frustration that blew it open. Maybe have it already blown and have destroyable boards across it, or possibly make it so that you can set a bomb on it (with the pulsing bomb model).
Good work, havent had a level that tense since the beginning of day of the tiger.

don't get me wrong, I like the campaign, I haven't fought that hard in a single player level in a long time. There are alot of 'oh shit' moments (tree snipers, the room at the top of nazi fort, when you realize in dawn invasion just the kind of crap you are in and need to go for the objective instead of merely killing all the ai in the level).
The wierd damage model is more of a complaint I have with MOHAA (although I think you should go for the amount of damage it takes to kill someone in multiplayer... a shotgun blast close, a grenade, a good sniper shot should all take someone down). MoHAA isn't a realistic game, and I realize that.
One more thing: the bazooka guys on the roofs was a touch of genius.. that was particularly nasty when everything around me started blowing up and the smoke trails were getting in the way of my scope, keeping me from picking them off.
I liked the level, it was fun.. just cause its tough doesn't mean its bad.

I finished playing your campaign, and am starting on it for the second time. I just wanted to point out a few things I noticed, and will try to keep writing as I go through the levels again.
First, great job. Fear was a big emotion for me as I went through the levels. It was definitly difficult, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Nihilo was right, those guys took alot of shots. I think I unloaded 6 rounds with my springfield into one guys chest on the roof of the Nazi HQ. One thing that bothered me was it seems that one of the guys on the roof was hitting me from long range with a shotgun, and doing about 40 points of damage. Not bad until I consider that a sniper is only taking 16 off. Not sure if there is anything you can do about that.
I have only made it through Dawn Invasion level twice, and the only thing getting me their is the clipping on the tanks-messes me up ever time.
Really I wouldn't want you to change anything major in the levels. The fact that it takes awhile to beat should be a good thing-gives me something to do for awhile.

I tried playing the Nazi HQ Test map tonight and had a small problem
with some of the German soldiers skins. I see all of the Elite SS soldiers
but the others (without helmets) only show their heads and arms. No
uniforms or legs (invisible). I tried moving my customs skins, but that
didn't help any. What is the problem?

First off the Helmet and leg thing I haven't heard of yet. I heard someone encountered an error with a german helmet tik once, but that's it so far. Weird. My moh radiant is posessed anyway.
Secondly I realize the difficulty of the soldiers and I apologize for any strange experiments I did with the ai. But After this I have learned a great deal about programming AI Soldiers.
Do's and Don'ts of Bots
Rule 1:
Never give more that one bot, in a group of bots, 3 grenades.
Rule 2:
Never give a bot a pistol and super sight.
Rule 3:
If a bot is superman... atleast give him a cape.

I made a dozen or more mistakes man in that campaign. Besides I went from the worst fps in maps to the best in only a month. BTW the trees cause some serious fps problems with the intense rain weather effects in the the last stage.Alcoholic wrote:you could use enemyspawners throughout your map to save fps. just spawn them when the player gets near. thats basically what the game engine does with the level.

i had to stop playing the first levil. i mean i know you put allot into it, but the fps drove me away. i have a radeon 9700pro, and all i could get out of her was 40fps.
i did like what i saw though.
thanks

rich with the good taste of cancer.
better than the good part of the boob.
able to flash more bling than most possies in the room.
Don & Mike.

Well bob since your eye can only see 27 of those frames a second I don't se how you can complain. And a Radeon 9700 would play that like gold unless your processor sucks.dirtybob wrote:i had to stop playing the first levil. i mean i know you put allot into it, but the fps drove me away. i have a radeon 9700pro, and all i could get out of her was 40fps.
