Its good, but not what I'm after - I'm going to try and create a logo myself instead of wasting everyone's time - its just that I know the sort of thing I'm looking for and its hard to describe to people.........so thank you to everyone for their efforts....

I like designing logo's (in fact it's part of my job), and the best program to do it in would be Adobe Illustrator. It's great for making 'simple' logo's and shapes.
When looking at this site I would go for green and yellow (like the font color of the links) and maybe white. I don't mind at all spending some time creating a test logo. So, it's 150x150. I'll post something soon.

okay here's just a few attempts, because the combinations are endless. See if there's anything that you like or ideas you could use to create your own logo. The one at the bottom is the one I (sort of) like the best; I got the idea for it from the Clipper tool:

I'm pretty sure you can make one yourself but if you do need a second opinion then lemme know!

Its on my 100 things to do before I go insane list......along with writing a tutorial / review scripting system in php (which i know little about), redesigning the site (only slightly though).....
