how come i didnt get the arrows linking the nodes??? the tutorial says a target of tt2 and targetname of t1????? well i downloading the example map and the targets and targetnames were completely different than what i ended up with...

anyways i was wondering if you could make an AI controlled Vehicle (about 3 - 5 of em) that goes to a point then back to the begging point and waits like 15 seconds and then goes back again so on so on ect... and you can hop off the jeep anytime you want but you cant get on untill it comes to a stop... im no scripting genius so i dont know how this would be done and i want it for multiplayer.... TDM... (this would kinda be like black hawk down where the hummers go to safety and pick up guys and takes them back again :D )

i will try and make a drawing of this :P it would be easier to understand but i dont understand how to post a picture :evil:

I should have said, look at Surgeon's vehicle tutorial. It's the same, except use vehicle points.

ur explanation is satisfactory, we understand ya loud and clear

when you want ai to "control" the vehicle that's gonna be difficult, it'll involve writing a new ai script,

if you want the trucks to drive from one position to another and then back again, just look at m1l3b.scr (i think it's that 1, where u man the gun on the jeep)

it's just disabling the ai and putting the $ossman in the seated position

that's no scripting problems at all :D

1 thing that should of been said... looking at the setup... it's not really getting a friendly to drive the truck, but only 2 b seated while it follows a designated path

and 2nd
the area in the tutorial...
Add a info_vehicle_point in front of the jeep, and make sure it targets another one where you want it to be. For example, give it a targetname of "t1" and target of "tt2". Then create another one with targetname of "t2". You should see an arrow linking t1 to t2. Drag t2 anywhere you want the jeep to stop at.

this should only say "t2" not "tt2" as t1's target is looking for t2 not tt2 :P

well i figured out how to upload a pic and here it is... my 3 sec drawing

alot of this i have said already but i just wanna be clear :-|

Here is what i was wanting... a transport truck with an AI in driver seat... (pretending to be driving the vehicle) and the truck starts in a garage you hop in back and wait for timer to go down to 0... and it takes off and stops just outside the city.... for like 3 seconds (the player is not attatched to the vehicle) giving the player time to hop out the vehicle and get cover :D and the transport then goes back to garage and gives players who died and are at spawn point to hop in and get to city faster than walking :D

(the map is going to have a long road... and will be bigger than the pic lol and keep in mind this is a TDM map)

ok i got the trucks moving... but they move like how you would make a brush move... it just slides every where lol and with no sounds and half of the time the truck is facing wrong direction but is heading to right place... lol its too funny but makes me mad

erm??? can some one just tell me how i would script a truck to drive around in map??? this isnt working out at all lol... trucks just sliding every where and sideways at that... :x
