i think call of duty would be the best game. its using a modified Q3 engine, so therell be more people playing that than Half life 2 and doom 3 which youll need a few ?1000 spare to buy the pc needed to run them with.
it depends on whether 2015/infinity ward release the stuff needed to make good mods tho. if they dont one of the other gamees would be better

Amazing results... I suppose EA must have more fans who are willing to pay money for shoddy produce than I thought.

Btw, they've not released an SDK after 2 releases and 18 months so to expect them to release one by the end of the year is na?ve in the extreme.

The only thing that would even persuade me to consider buying this expansion would be clear proof that they have spent time developing the MP game to an extent that erradicates all of the current known bugs and that shows they have spent time on developing sturdy and fast maps (ie, virtually none of the horrible SH maps pass this scrutiny - most definitely 90% of the custom maps).

Is this likely to happen?

Or will we receive a few more missions that take 2 days to complete (at a canter) and a load of maps designed on 3Ghz machines that still only perform at an average of 30 FPS on them?

Blimey, EA have turned me into a cynic at 25!

I'd agree with D3, but ID have never claimed that their game would be otherwise. In fact it's designed to be played on the next generation of Geforce cards.

Half-Life 2, however, is not. Minimum specs are planned to be approximately the reccomended specs of MoH:AA (900Ghz CPU, 32bit Graphics). That's not bad seeing as it will be 2 years or more since MoH came out by the time we'll hopefully be buying HL2.

Granted that will mean some people will have to upgrade but hardly at a cost of ?1000 or more.

It cost me about ?240 to upgrade from my old Duron 700Mgz, 384 PC133 Ram to my current Athlon XP 1.67Ghz, 512 DDR ram, which should be able to run HL2 no problems.

I'll probably need to upgrade to make it run smooth as I would like, but that was the same with MoH:AA.

Remember that MoH:AA was created with the same engine that CoD will approximately use and we all know how poorly (in comparison) MOH:AA runs.

Valve, on the other hand, should know how to optimise their engine (seeing as they created it entirely) far better than a third party developer will.

Don't expect CoD to run smoothly on a 1Ghz machine. It won't. Not unless they've implimented some new technology that we've not heard about into their modified engine.
