what's wrong with my poles?

These poles are normal cylinders and whenever I tex them I get that funky smear look. How do I apply the texture evenly over the whole cylinder so it looks good?

Bottom right corner of your mohr, if you have your texture toolbar turned on, you will see "SET" with two boxes to the right of it. One box controls the number of times the texture is used in the x direction and the other controls the number of times its used in the y direction. Experiment with different combinations to get the texture pattern you are looking for :)

I have this problem sort of randomly. How I beat it.... size the pole/barrel/etc as a cube/box DO NOT MAKE IT A CYLINDER YET....FIRST 'paint' it with caulk, then convert the box shape into a cylinder...next apply the texture you want and click on 'fit'. That will set your texture.
