trees

Post by tltrude »

Trees do lower the FPS because they move when you are close to them. Snowy trees are the worst. Try taking out some of the trees or using different kinds. There is not much you can do if the trees are in the middle of the map--unless you want to make high walls/buildings around them. 45-60 is not bad unless you have a fast video card--it may be bad for people with slower cards.

Try out my Vis_Leafgroup "hands on" tutorial... but it wont help you in open spaces... you will need something to atually block player view: Like hedges and other solid stuff. Just check it, hope you can use it...

Actually, to run it correctly you need to start the map with the 'devmap' command instead of just 'map' to allow cheat protected commands :)
But its still an error on my part, fixing it right now... thanx.
