FPS in BF1942 VS Mohaa

Post by Yarik »

I recently played BF1942 and they have good FPS. Why do they? They have a much bigger box? They have much more room so that planes can fly and boats can ride. then why is it that when you make a sky box in medal of honor bigger then needed it begans to lag?

Just a guess:

Quake3 engine: older
The other engine ( hope its not a Quake3 engine ): newer and uses the specialized modern hardware better.

Just a guess...

that's a great guess, Bjarne:D

the bf42 engine is built from scratch-it was created by the bf42 team specifically for the game and its requirements

The BF engine was based off of the Serious Sam engine...Refractor I think...not sure. Anyway its designed to handle very large enviroments vs Q3 which is not.
