Abracadabra! It's gone!

Post by Zip »

Is it possible to make things invisible and able to walk through? ....I better explain:

I want to use the fireplaceset (static--->furniture) , but I don't want the fork/shovelthingy to show up and I don't want to bump into it because it will be in mid air in my map (i've put the fireplaceset in a raised hole in the wall)

To stop the bumping, you could just copy the model and give it a different name, or use a script_model and make it non-solid.

I think you can make certain parts invisible using the 'shader' or 'surface' command, either from script or by editing the TIKI. Whether you can remove the right parts depends on the layout of the model.

Hmm the script_model nonsolid sounds ok, but the other thing is a bit too advanced for me

I was hoping there was a texture the opposite of 'clip' that I could use that would make it invisible too. (for example it might be called 'noclip_nonvis' or something?!)

If you type utility in the text box at the top, it will bring up all the textures you can try. There is one called nodraw.

No success

I'm afraid I had to rotate the fireplaceset around until the fork/shovel thingy was inside a wall  I know it's very unprofessional, but It's all I can think of.

If anyone comes up with a sloution I would love to know.
