The release of HL2 will finally lay MoH to rest for me, if I haven't stopped playing it already by then.

Sadly, there's very little else out there to tempt me away from MOH right now so I do still play on publics. Granted, half of the time I am dodging hackers, but I suppose that adds a little more "depth" to what is otherwise a rapidly declining source of enjoyment for me.

Valve are the reason I bought a PC in the first place. HL was the only game I played for 2-3 years.

And will I be mapping for HL2? Damn straight I will be.

All the support you could need, all the tools, all the flexiability of the "Source" engine.

It's enough to make me drool in anticipation.

My best friend and myself will most likely mod for HL2, as well... I have the mapping experience and he has the coding, modelling and texturing experience.

Our first project will, depending on the weapons that ship with the game, most likely be a "Shotgun + Bow" mod. Any vets from the HL scene will remember the "Oz Deathmatch Shotgun + Bow" mod, that all the elite players owned at.

After that? The sky's the limit.

I just can't wait to see those first few custom maps that are created... I can picture it now... "The Box" - a huge square single textured room with hundreds of radiators, boxes, barrels, cars, mattresses, cans, chairs and other moveable objects stuffed in it :D

It's inevitable.
