Doors wont open???
OK, ive been through the doors tutorial with no problems, however now i have run into a problem with doors in that i cannot get them to work at all. Ive tried various settings on them from starting open (which they dont) to player activated opening/closing, ive also adjusted the angle the door should open too. The door is set to func_door, yet i still am unable to get the doors to open, i have tried to rebuild the doors, but still have had no luck with this.
Plz help.

Sonsai I think he's making a sliding door! If his door is a func_door it is a sliding door and therefore doesn't need the origin brush. If it is a func_rotatingdoor then he would need the origin brush.
So, Daniel, what door are you trying to make? You can send me your map with the door in and i'll have a look if you like

Im trying both sliding and rotating door, on a couple of different buildings, and have now put hinges on all the doors.
Since I have done this i have been unable to load the map as i get this error come up in console:
ERROR: Func_door::SetSolidType entity at Xxxx YyyyZzzz with no BSP model.
I know what door it is yet cant see why this is happening.

origin
You will get that error is an origin brush has no door brush as part of the entity. Do this:
1. Select both the door brush and the origin brush.
2. Goto selection and click on ungroup brush.
3. Highlight both brushes again and hit key N.
4. Double click on func_door or func_rotatingdoor.
5. Check to make sure both brushes have only one lable in the 2d window.
6. Set the angle of a rotating door to the direction players will face to open it.
It should work now. The origin brush and the door brush must be one entity. Using an origin brush moves the center point of an entity to the center of the origin brush.

good work
You did good! At least you figured it out without sending your map to someone. That puts you one up on all the other new guys around here, he he. Now you need to figure out ladders and breakable windows!

Ladders i already have figured out
and not looked at windows yet.
However i have a more minor irritant atm as i somehow managed to get my 3d view into a frameview and am unable to take it out again as i have no idea how i switched it to that view in the first place.
So if anyone knows the command for this then could you pleaselet me know where it is.
Thx

It's the little eye icon. I use the one with no number, but I guess you can change it and change it back to pop the window back in. The popper outter has got to be one of those icons anyway. Or, try right clicking on the window title bar.
