Compie Errors

Post by ArcAngel »

Hi guys, wonder if you can help.

I am craeting a map for Spearhead. And every so often I use the MBuilder program to compile it and see how it looks.

But when I do I get alot of messages saying 'so...&...so...- Shader has no surface type specified.

Now this comes up for ALOT of stuff!

What am I doing wrong???

Shader

It might not be your fault. It could be a bad shader in one of the mod pk3 files you downloaded and put in Mohaa/main. Try putting all non-original pk3 files in a temp folder in main (except entdefs.pk3, if it is there).

I also have this problem, but it doesn't appear to affect my map in Spearhead. Should I worry about it?

I used to get it all the time. Then I realized that in MBuilder I was setting "Game Directory" to the "main" folder everytime. This was causing some serious issues with my map. Player-clip was clipping bullets as well, water was coming out as a solid object instead of looking/acting like water, textures were looking different in-game then they were in the editor... it was horrible. Now that I fixed that, I don't think I've noticed one error in my compiling or when playing.

Well I have moved out all of my non original .pak3 files.
This made no difference.

So I guess the next thing is to check the directories in MBuilder.

Try removing the .pk3 files from your main and mainta directories, I had the same problem and this solved it.
