tEXTURES

Post by Daniel Radcliffe »

Does anyone else have problems getting certain textures eg doors/windows to fit their map.

On my map either i have a partial picture on a door of the correct size or i have the full picture on a door that would rival those of 'The gates of Mauder'.

This makes the map look untidy and poorly planned, is there anyway of sorting this?

You just fit the textures to doors/windows.

You can do it a number of ways:

One:

Click 'Textures' ----> 'Alignment' ----> 'Fit to face'

Two:

At the bottom of the MOHRadiant window there is a 'Fit' button next to 'X Flip', 'Y Flip' and 'Rand'. Just click on 'Fit' to fit it to the door/window. Use the 'Flip' buttons to, ermmm, flip the texture. 'Rand' is random I think.

Three:

Use the surface properties to mess with the texture scaling until it looks right. (Press 's' while you have the surface selected)

Also, If you have arches and curved brushes use the 'natural' button to make the textures fit.

Enjoy :D

In addition, I was using the MOHRadiant compiler and it was screwing up my textures, MBuilder does not, just so you know :D

I assume you know how to select your textured faces of the brush seperately, anyways select one, hit S and you see the vertical scale and horizontal scales top left of the pop up box, most textures if I am correct should be scaled to .50 , you can adjust it to make it suitable but as a rule most are best at .50, if I am wrong I am sure someone will mention it, but I dont think I am, well maybe :)
