Whats the correct smoke to use??

Heyho in my Morgue for war in a hall I have a small Cremation oven with fire burning away - looking inside it ducting can be seen - so I've carried this on outside the map also, so i'm looking for a good kind of smoke to use. Maybe something like chimney smoke would work any ideas?

In the editor right click in the 2d grid area and choose: fx --> smoke --> firesmoke. I personally have found this to be a great chimney type smoke. Once you place the little blue diamond where you like (preferably just inside the top of you chimney opening) then open up the entity inspector using the N key. Make sure your firesmoke effect is still selected and then click on the U button down in the angle area of the entity box. This will give the effect a

key: angle
value: -1

Thats it. Now your smoke will rise out of the top of the chimney. One other note of importance...

In your mapname_precache.scr add the following line to the list:

cache models/emitters/firesmoke.tik

Sorry for my reply on this old topic. But I've created the fx into my chimney. Did not do the .tik part yet (where do I put this?). But now in my map there is smoke. Only the smoke goes through my chimney walls. How can I make this go away? Is there something to set the smoke a little smaller or something?

I'm not to sure - maybe you could try scaling it down
