lod terrain, sun and shadows.

Post by Ramah Palmer »

Ok, I've created a path using static meshes, and pushing up to the path, slightly raised from it, I'm using LOD terrain to make a small verge. I've encased the whole thing with a large skybox and given it a suncolor, a sundirection (-45 90 0) and a sunflarename of sun. My question is this: My very small verge that borders the path doesn't look too bad up close, but from a distance it is throwing huge black shadows across it.
What am I doing wrong? Should I be changing the angle of the sun?
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.

To be honest I think its just a light problem that MoHAA has - though I may be wrong about this - I seem to recall Jv_map talking about using -bounce 0 in your light options during compile....
