hi I REALLY NEED SOME HELP SOMEONE...ANYONE.... EVERYONE.

How do i do a loading screen.

I have followed some tuts. and i went to see if it worked and my loading screen is bigger then my screen (it is like stretched). and it is UPSIDE DOWN???

also everytime i save a document as .urc or .shader or watever, it alwayss ends up a text file.

plz i want a loading screen. My single player level is done (level 1) that i have been workin on for ages and i know u lot will enjoy it :).

i am goin to release it when i have done level 2. which will be better i hope then level 1. with a surprise.

Oh, come now. These are newbie mistakes.

Are you trying to do a loading screen like what most maps use, with the paper texture, the border, and then the screenshot? Or are you just trying to make it one big picture?

And to save them as a .urc or .shader, go to the little drop-down box and select "All Files (*.*)" instead of "Text Document (*.txt)".
My warning meant nothing. You're dancing in quicksand. Why don't you watch where you're wandering? Why don't you watch where you're stumbling? You're in knee-deep and going in, and you may never come back again.

also i went to "all files" but it still ends up a text doc. i want it to be like all the other loading screens with border and all what u said.
but the .urc, .shader are text docs and now well wat they r supposed to look like.

What I would do if I where you is open one of the .urc files in the ui directory of pak0.pk3 . They are all simular they start out like this .
menu "m1l1" 640 481 NONE 0
bgcolor 0 0 0 1
borderstyle NONE
bgfill 0 0 0 1
fullscreen 1
//vidmode 3
//fadein 0.5
virtualres 1
postinclude ui/loadingbar.txt
virtualres to fit all screens then the images are put on the screen by coordinates
resource
Label
{
name "Default"
rect 256 0 256 256
fgcolor 1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00
bgcolor 1.00 1.00 1.00 0.00
borderstyle "NONE"
shader "textures/mohmenu/voodoo/m1l1_b.tga"
enabledcvar "ui_voodoo"
}
as you see in this example the graphic is 256 pixels left and 0 down from the top and is 256 x 256 in size . The shader is not actually a shader but is a path to a graphic . This is how the ingame menus are made as well . For something extra give the menu a name like in the first part of lets say background and in your level script put
//--------------------------------------
// Fade-in Menus
//--------------------------------------

wait .5
showmenu background
wait 1
hidemenu backround
showmenu background2
wait 3
hidemenu background2
showmenu background3
wait 1
hidemenu background3
showmenu background4
wait 3
hidemenu background4
wait .5
each one of these is in an .urc name of the urc dosen't matter with these I think but menu name does . Of course you need to fadeout before you do this

fadeout .001 0 0 0 1
drawhud 0

then after this do

fadein 10 0 0 0 1

you can better see this with one of the briefing levels which are actual levels that trans to the mission levels

ok ppl this is my prob.....

i hope you get what i mean so u can help me... here goes.

My loading screen works. it has a border, it is in the middle and right size.....BUT.

IT IS UPSIDE DOWN, AND THE WRONG WAY ROUND!!??!!??!!??!!??

i copyed all the tuts completely but my pic is upside down and the wrong way around.

so i didn't know how to fix this so wat i did was....

i opened my pic in PaintShop Pro8 and i rotated my pic upside down and the wrong way around. then i saved it. Went to load my level, And then my pic was all correct. it was the right way around and right side up!!??

so does this mean in the shader file the angle is wrong? i don't know how the numbers work in the shader ???
