the colour white consists of 3 RGB-values (255,255,255), just as any other colour. Ehm..so yeah, I think this fits the rubbish category... ,-)

Oh

I don't think it matters on how the colour is made, it's just harder for graphics cards to display white. Needs more power to light up the LEDs or whatever they are these days :?

Still, I could be continuing to talk out of my (_!_)

... but where did you get that information then? I only know for sure that if a texture has many different colours in it, it will be bigger in size and thus use more memory to display.
However, for some reason I do get the feeling that (most) darker maps seem to run a little faster than brighter maps; but that of course has nothing to do with the colour white...
I've searched some more on this but can't find anything related to cpu power or graphics cards.

I thought my bro told me that, but I just asked him and he says he doesn't know if white affects your graphics card. He did say, however, it takes more power for a monitor to display white (he works for IBM so he must be right  ). Who knows where I dreamed the white idea from then :?:

A bag of peanuts to the person who finds out the answer :)

It does seem to make some kind of sense, Snowy Park and the Ardennes TOW map run like treacle on my machine, so jerky and laggy. I thought it was because of all the trees but if the white textures also slow it down then it all makes sense. Maybe not but a good idea at least.
Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".
