Leaning whilst moving.

Post by rOger »

I'm sure this is a question that most of you who play in a Clan would be able to answer. I have noticed that some, me excluded, seem to be able to lean and move at the same time. What is up with that? Not that i want to do it, as it makes me f**king mad when people can't run strait. I mean, die with some dignity. 8)

And then there are those a**holes that seem to be swimming through the ground, how do they do that. Again don't really want to be able to do it, Don't need to you see, but it will give me even greater satisfaction to kill someone like that, assuming it takes some sort of manipulating of the game to get that effect.

It's not cheating, per se, but it is very, VERY cheap, and it's a problem that Spearhead has taken care of quite well.
My warning meant nothing. You're dancing in quicksand. Why don't you watch where you're wandering? Why don't you watch where you're stumbling? You're in knee-deep and going in, and you may never come back again.

I use it all the time, think its great!
Makes the game more interesting (my view) when you meet your enemy who leans aswell, more of a challenge, for me that is!

rOger, which servers are you normally on? tdm or obj?

90% of the people that whine about leaning are the one's sitting in spectator 30 seconds into the map.....

Ahh, so its possible under AA and not SH. Well then it's ok i guess, though it still looks silly. And for 7th Es Cyborg comment I would like to say that I have no problem with people leaning, I kill them just the same. It just irritates me that some people seem to be able to do it and some not. And if you need such a feature to compete with me, well that says more about you than me.

I play more tdm than obj, but thats because it those maps seem to lagg more for some reason. Tried a TOW map the other night, nightmare, horrible, it just froze on me once every ten seconds or so with a ping of 40-60.

Lean is turned off as default in SH but I have played on some servers where its switched on, I like leaning.

Seems lame to turn it off cos I could run and lean in reality, try it for yourself.

Humans can pivot the torso above the waist even when walking or running, so it should be enabled in the game, well thats what I think anyways and I know its a game not reality but hey.

I agree about the people that like to landshark, they really really annoy me, whats the point man ????? I would like to break their wrists

I don't dissagree with you on that point. It just that the leaning is used to some extent as a way to make oneself harder to hit out in the open, and not just for peeking around corners. Mostly the thing that annoys me is the way that the "target" swings this way and that way like it a night out dancing and not a fight for life or death. It just looks to stupid.

BUT can you do that while firing a gun? Seems to me that it would be difficult.

Leaning is not realistic, and I think it should've been toned down a little bit. You'll get tired after 50 hours of fragging and being revied over and over again.

I can guarantee that if you happened to be in a close range fire fight you would be able to run lean and shoot all at the same time, the fear and adrenaline would make you do anything to cut down your chances of being hit.

go through a military obstical course and you'd learn real fast you can run/lean/fire at the same time.
It just irritates me that some people seem to be able to do it and some not
That's because of poor key binding. Some people will bind the lean with another key such as straife, I personaly just have my lean button positioned where I can easly hit it and any other button at the same time.

I totally agree with keybindings... they're lame and the peeps that using it that way are lamers, but if you have fingerskills and can use strafe & lean at the same time, that is just fair i think... it takes practise though...

It's not that leaning while running is unrealistic. It's that leaning one way, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, then the other, within a few second's time is humanly IMPOSSIBLE. My opinion is they should have made leaning faster when you're sitting still, and slower while you're moving. Or at least the time between each lean should have had something like a 1 second break between.
