There is no sound alias named "door_moving" in the Pak0.pk3/ubersound/ubersound.scr script, or in the global folder. Most of the wave file folders are in Pak3.pk3/sounds and thier scripting names are are set in the ubersound script, along with which maps they will work in.

Hey Wacko, I finally figured out how to do it:

1) Give a door a targetname (ex: mygate)

2)Give a door doortype: metal (it helps the sound but is not important)

3) Put this in your script:

$mygate sound_open_start m2l1_gate_open
$mygate sound_close_start m2l1_gate_open
$mygate sound_open_end door_metal_close_stop4

4) Cheers to Krane!

I would like to thanks everybody that helped me sleep in peace. Especially tltrude, for his patience. jv give the good tip, txs. THE GATE HAVE NOW A DECENT SOUND !!!!!!!! Txs Pantera too.

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaah!

I had to make my doors a little faster to finish moving before the wave is over, but this is okay for me! Great! 8)

I must confess, I was quite happy when I found Krane trying to find a way making these door sounds work  And now it is working! If live was so easy all the time...

My thanks, too, to all who spent their precious time to solve this puzzle!
And, yes, cheers to Krane!

You're welcome Wacko!

i don't know if you realize, but the alias I'm using for the sound_open_start is a LOOP. Just set the door speed you want (you can do it in the Entity window, in Radiant) and the sound will fit to your speed. It will keep playing until the sound_open_stop is activated.

One problem less...

hu?
i did things exactly as you described, and the sound ended in the middle of door movement.
Have YOU tried big doors opening rather slowly? My door had to move 150 units at a speed of 20 and this was probably too much/slow!? Now, my door got speed/50 and everything is fine :D

Yeah, you're right. sorry. In my tests I was slowing the door speed until speed=44 and the sound was still playing so...

I putted the speed to 20 and the sound ended as you say. I think if you want your door to be slower you will have to add a trigger (argh). The trigger generates a "blinking red gate" we don't want that, right?

So I think we have to stay w/ the door running at speed 44 or 50. 44 f/ me works fine.

You can always try to find another alias in the ubersound.scr to fit your door, but there aren't much.

"door_vault_roll_open" and "door_vault_roll_close" are nice, but they require a coustom sound tiki.

Including a tik file w/ your map is a big deal? I mean, it conflicts w/ others tiks in the game?
