no, you're right, i didn't and i like what you did, esp. the mod part of it!
But there are several tga's that could have been jpgs as well. It would still have been quite big, but just the folder textures/citynights with its tgas makes the pk3 about 2MB bigger than a pk3 with the same textures saved as jpegs...

wo wo wo guys!!!

i'll start by saying i don't mean to offend, and then u know that what i'm goin to type next will offend somebody... but...

the amount of wok that goes into mapping is really unbelievable by soe and that's why there are so many mapping, with people thinking i can create my own map, just drawing a few boxes and putting colours on them... why would that be difficult???

then we realise... it's not as simple as making lead into gold (what do you mean you haven't mastered that yet :P ) anyway, on a serious note

although Wacko may not of released 3 connecting single player maps, his work that he has released is still great, (still faultable i admit) but so is everyones,

we don't just post maps on here so people can criticise them, but we still expect constructive criticism so we know where to increase our performance in the next venture,

without other peoples comments, now i really really don't mean to offend now Gen Cobra, but you said yourself that because you posted things on here before and no-one replied, that you thought no-one gave to shits about it,

but until we release any map without imperfections and great fps, great objectives, great story line, great cinematic intro, etc... etc... etc... and then everyone downloads it, your still not going to get every person who downloads the mod and loves it saying in the forum how good they thought it was,

the work both of you guys do goes unrecognised, that's why after i've got a shit load of work to do, i really thought i'd return the favour and release a map before i swan off and do what needs doing, a kind of token of thanks,

anyway i've totally forgot why i'm typing any of this, hang on just gonna read ur posts :P

oh yeah, until criticism stops and only great news from every person who d/loaded the game praises ou, there's still things to learn, no-one knows it all yet (not even JV sorry to bring you into this but you we're just a recognised name in this nexk of the woods :P, people only offer advice in the way they'd like to receive it back,

critical, yet to the point,

bugger it, that'll do for this post, most people don't read long posts anyway, there's another 10minutes just wasted :D

but still it was for the sake of .map (our home)

btw, if you want people to read your post, put their name in it in red :P
hope this helps, prob not cos it's all foreign 2 me :-/

let's not turn a thread about custom textures into a debate about people's inability to react to mods or show respect, nuggets. Im an amature at best and as soon as people realize that I will recieve less flack about my work. I recieve over 20 mails a day at the e-mail address I set up for my mods/maps. Most of which tell me that I am the best damn thing that ever happened to moh. I completely disagree but then again I never asked them to write me and tell me that.
I don't need a pat on the back. I do this for fun and to know that others have fun with my work. As I have said a dozen times on a dozen forums if you don't like it, I have a great idea of where you can stick your fist. (it was a bit more graphic on other forums)

Hahahaha, what the hell happened, What was the question I started with ?

Which dimensions should I save out my textures ?

Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

Okay! Maybe I said or got something wrong?! I just wanted to point out that the decision whether to use targa format or not does matter, and I thought, an example would make it more clear. I - as I said - didn't want to offend you. So I'm not quite sure why u're giving me this advice about my fist?

i will apologise to all concerned that may of been offended at my last post, especially Surgeon... yes Surgeon... i know this site wasn't created so we could have a slagging match about each others work/mapping/scripting/modding skills or attitude

i would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to Gen Cobra, it sounds harsh what's been said in the last few posts, i may well of read them wrong or interpretted them incorrectly, but until otherwise mentioned my thoughts go unchanged

hope this won't upset anyone, and make them leave .map MOH or any other kinky sport they're involved in :D
hope this helps, prob not cos it's all foreign 2 me :-/
