Mapping Troubles

Post by Scoob »

I recently bought the Medal of Honor Allied Assault Deluxe Edition. I discovered the MoHradiant program and downloaded it to give mapping a try. As i am fairly newbie in creating maps im having some trouble. I've read nearly every tutorial i can find and i have some excellent ideas for maps but everytime i buil something (ie: house, flowerbox, other structures, etc) and save it to my project or to my prefabs, when i go to open it to continue on my work there is nothing there. I click on the file but nothing appears on the grid or in the 3d window. I was just looking for some advice/help. Thanks

It is probably the paths you are using in project settings.

Well, it depends on where you files are or where you want them to go. Here are mine:

Basepath: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\
Mapspath: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\maps\tltrude\
Autosavepath: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\maps\tltrude\

I have autosave turned off so, if you use it, it should probably be set to a different folder than the mapspath. As you can see, I use a folder named tltrude to store my .map files in. But, you can use any name, and the folder can be anywhere you like. The basepath is wherever mohaa.exe is located.

When you save it creates a file that ends with .map and that is what the editor uses. But to play the map it has to be compiled into a .bsp file.

I know that the older version of Radiant (beta ?) totally removed things from maps. A big bug or something. Where did you download it from?

basepath: c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\
mapspath: c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\maps\
autosave: c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\maps\

im not sure if that is right or not, from the way i saw yours are set mine looks wrong...do you see the problem?
