corrupt .map file

Post by smartaiguy »

recently as some may know there has been a lot of storms the past few days, and last night a storm was coming in so I was going to save and shut my computer. Well just as I was saving the power went out. so this morning when I went to open it up most of everything was gone execpt for part of it. I still have the .bsp so I downloaded the converted off of fileplanet and tried it, when i convert it, the file size keeps going up and up and up, after it got to 150 megs I stopped it. I tried other maps and it works! I tried playing the map, it worked fine. Execpt for the bugs I was trying to fix.

Anybody have suggestions on how to get my .map back?
Anything is greatly appreciated!

In the same folder that you have your map file, there is a BAK file of your map.

This is a backup file, that will take you back to your last saved version of your map.

Open it in notepad, and then save it as yourmapname.map. Be sure to choose "All Files", not .txt else it will save it as yourmap.map.txt.

Then you will be able to open it in Radiant.......and LO!! There is your last saved version of your map!
