That's the game I was in together with you. About four five people I think.

Not really much but I couldn't find a more crowded server.

Ohhh ok

Cuz if you play in full a 14-28 player it becomes REALLY fun. That's my only gripe with the review but it doesn't really matter. I guess you'd have to get good fps to experience the fun though.

.....why?

Can i ask why you have a player with a below average pc reviewing maps that is for realtively high spec machines what else do you expect other than low framerates?

"Apart from the main road, there are two reachable areas, but there's usually nothing to do there"

What do you want some swings and a slide to play on?

"The overall map is rather dark, which means it's hard to spot an enemy. A bit more ambient light would have increased realism, as a town in full daylight wouldn't look quite as dark as Vervins"

Hmm yes ever herd of these things called clouds? they bring rain and make things dark and dreary and in such a close nit village it would be dark. Where exactly would this light come from ? Street lights? i think not for 1 its a small country village and second its in the middle of the day as you said.

The quality of the textures on this map is worthy of an official mohaa map . When you play Spearhead you will realise that most of the maps are bland and dull like Berlin, 1 word pants. Another thing being about them is half the maps are stolen from original mohaa and slightly edited. What a disapointment ust like your review of this map.

Take it easy Jimmy.

You can ask. That's because I don't have a higher spec pc and there are not so many reviewers available. Also, I compared my fps with the fps in original maps, so anyone can imagine how this map will play.
What do you want some swings and a slide to play on?

Logically, I meant a focus point for combat.

Ever seen clouds? Do they make the entire landscape pitch black? I wouldn't think so. Clouds diffuse light but it still tresspasses.

Definately not.

Thanks for feedback anyway.

"Can i ask why you have a player with a below average pc reviewing maps that is for realtively high spec machines what else do you expect other than low framerates?"

>>> I think that was explained in the review. All that was said is it could have been better.

""Apart from the main road, there are two reachable areas, but there's usually nothing to do there"

What do you want some swings and a slide to play on?"

>>> Although that is rather humorous, it misses the point entirely. Those areas don't contribute to the action because they are out of the flow.

""The overall map is rather dark, which means it's hard to spot an enemy. A bit more ambient light would have increased realism, as a town in full daylight wouldn't look quite as dark as Vervins"

>>> Whether it is entirely realistic or not, most players do not appreciate excessively dark areas.

"The quality of the textures on this map is worthy of an official mohaa map . When you play Spearhead you will realise that most of the maps are bland and dull like Berlin, 1 word pants. >>> I agree the map is nicely textured, but it's a lot easier to texture a map using a relatively small number of textures. It certainly doesn't deserve to be rated as highly as a similar map that uses twice as many textures.

One more comment. Regarding the need for 14 - 28 players to make the map fun to play, all that does is rely on the chaos factor to create fun. You've done a poor job of creating focal points and flow. If you look at the servers, you will find 99% of them that can handle this sort of player load are playing stock maps and most of them are objective maps. It's pretty unrealistic to expect you will get to play this map on many servers that will support 14 - 28 players.

Just like the mohaa community our reviewers have a broad section of machines to test maps on - if everyone on the team had the lastest PC's we'd get complaints as well because we'd always get high FPS - its unrealistic to assume everyone out there has a top of the line PC. Zubidoo has already said that the FPS are poor on anything but a high spec PC.

The overall map is rather dark, which means it's hard to spot an enemy. A bit more ambient light would have increased realism, as a town in full daylight wouldn't look quite as dark as Vervins

I don't think JV was talking about making the map completely bright - there is an amazing difference between pitch black/really dark and grey.

As for the SPearhead maps - well the UK should be getting Spearhead on Friday so I can finally get a look at them - from what I've heard they arn't the best maps around

Thanks for your comments though - thats what were after - user feedback..

But it did get 71% which is an above average score

two updates-

I'm trying to get a friend of mine to fully compile the map with great fps changes and some minor bug fixes.

On a new note, I started making a map today with a dam.

Stay tuned! :D

Zubi using some areaportals may fence off some areas.

I have the map file but never opened it in radient so i dont know who you laid out the map in terms of VIS.

But the layout is its mapped the way i think it is should suffice to create a much faster map.

But i got 60 /70 + on it :)

Screw you geforce 2 lamers MUHAHAHAHHAHAH
