First off, please do a 'search' of thread topics. It really pays off but you will have to invest some time. Secondly, here's a thread with a little info about enable/disable:

/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4184&sid=752b57333a04832896a3fe9f21bf145a

Third, keep using 'search'. You'll find hundreds of ideas/issues have been covered and they keep getting reposted because guys don't 'search' first. Not trying to be difficult, but it will save you a lot of time waiting for replies and keep the forums more neat.

all you gotta do is give the spawn a targetname and use these lines:

$my_spawn disablespawn
$my_spawn enablespawn

there can be more than one $my_spawn.

yes obviously that post has the subject enabling/disabling spawn points but really has nothing to do with what i want. i did try the search too thats why i have posted... i only post when i cant find something i want. or if i can give information to someone else.

Now my question is how do i disable spawn points in STOCK maps? or how do i give them targetnames?

Ok, as far as stock maps, I'm pretty sure that you can't alter existing spawn locations. IF you can find out IF they have particular targetnames you could, but I don't see why they would. Omaha does, however, as the progress of the Allies at the start can open/close spawn locations. Once the shingle is blown, then they spawn up at that point. You'd have to browse through that .scr file.

Adding new spawns is possible with the 'spawn popper' mod thing. I'm not sure that I like it though, as it can totally screw up a maps play. You'd have to be careful to layout everything fairly and logically. Technically a lot can be done to alter the stock map .scr files, but I'd be careful with it. Unless you've got some freakin' awesome twist to add, I'd spend my time on new maps.

The player spawn points are put into the map during its construction and can not be targetnamed after the game file (bsp) is made. One stock map has targetnamed spawn points already (omaha) as you can tell in the script for that map.

This is from obj_team3:

$spawn_allied2 disablespawn
$spawn_allied3 disablespawn
$spawn_axis3 disablespawn
$spawn_axis4 disablespawn

i heard somewhere that you can put an object over a spawn point to disable it.. would that work or would they just spawn into the object? and if i created a new spawn point and put an object over all the existing ones would that force them to spawn into the new one every time?
