I heard from some mappers that they prefer to use Easy Gen for thier maps.
How does it works?
Where do i find a tutorial for it?

Something to consider before you get into Easy Gen/Gen Surf
Do consider that if you use bit maps (bmp maps that you create typically in grey scale ( 256 bit color mode)) to represent elevations for your terrain, THAT, as the terrain becomes very complicated, that is you have many hills and valleys formed based on what the bit map tells the editor to create.....
that you then might have a difficult time placing objects/players etc. precisely at a given elevated point. WHEREAS if you depend on draging
poly nodes within a LOD using the Editor's vertices move method you know much better just at what elevation a given area is raised or lowered.
I had used Gen Surf quite a bit while mapping for Soldier of Fortune, to make large terrain maps having mountian ranges, valleys creek beds, cliff faces etc., AND I CAN TELL YOU.... it became quite a bit of work to then place AI NPC and various structures accurately at a given elevation.
As many of us know, the side view and front view main 2Dim working window has limited capabilities to zero in on a given elevation through a range of zooming in/out. And the result is that one can go nuts trying to accurately place building and other things just above ground level at any given point.
Just be aware of this concept/warning. The more varied and convoluted your terrain surface, the more difficult it will be to place objects within the map. And for those "just considering" the use of a bitmap oriented terrain generator, do be aware that it can produce very varied terrain elevations within small areas, that become almost impossible to place objects onto AT ground level.
cheers
