MOH Frustration

Post by MPowell1944 »

I usually would not have posted here, but I have reached a level of frustration that I never have before. Here is my situation :

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my machine. I also reinstalled MOHAA and patched it with the 1.11 patch. I then went ahead and installed new video and audio drivers. Now, from that point, whenever I joined a server, the game would crash. It would label mohaa.exe as the problem file. Here are the solutions that I have tried, with no positive results :

1. Reinstalling the game
2. Reinstalling the game on a different drive
3. Removing all entries from the Registry
4. Reinstalling video drivers
5. Reinstalling audio drivers
6. Repairing the game
7. Running the game at version 1.0 and 1.11 and both with and without the NO CD patch
8. Running a Windows Update

Even after all that, the game continues to crash, giving me the same error in return. I have run out of possible solutions, so I turn to all of you for anything else that you think would cause something like this to happen. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As I said, I tried with and without the NO CD patch. Even with the default .exe file, the game would crash.

I then went ahead and installed new video and audio drivers
If you use the newest Detonator drivers, try an older version.

For a good registry cleaner, try downloading the Jv16 Power Tools:

Try to instal system stuff 1st: drivers, Windows XP, DirectX, Windows update, this kind of things.

THEN you install your things like mohaa, patch, radiant, etc...

This NoCdPatch works? Better not use.

Hope it helps.

Do a search for a file called EAsyinfo. its a file that came with Medal of Honor Allied Assault. Once you find it double click it. It will scan your computer and bring up a screen. Click the tab called requirements. Make sure all the boxes have a green check. If one has a red x then your missing that requirment.

I have basically the same problems, and finally cleaned out the old
files in the Windows Registry (MOH). Then did a fresh install of MOH:AA and Spearhead. Worked for me.

did you check for a possible virus?

did you do a full re format to xp

if jus and upgrade do a full reformat

If your computer on a network and its a small network I would reformat the other computers incase the virus has infected all computers on your system...
