Spearhead is messed up!

Post by matt_moh »

Ok, I just installed the 211 and 215 patches and now the sounds for spearhed don't work. Every time a sound is supposed to play I get an error message in the console that says the sound needs an alias in ubersound.scr. I have this problem with both my own levels and the original levels including multiplayer.

Along with the sound problems, some of the levels themselves have developed problems since I installed the patches. In t3l2, I noticed that the bridge you are supposed to blow up will not explode no matter how many times you shoot it. I never had these problems before I installed the patches.

To try and fix this, I totaly uninstalled both AA and SH, deleting my saved games and configurations as well. I then moved the patch installation programs out of my MOHAA folder and deleted all the files in that folder except my custom levels. When I reinstalled the two games, I still had the same problems!

Can anyone help me? I'm stumped.

You did the right thing by reinstalling the program, but you must delte everything. Yuor problem could lie in your custom maps since they were the only things left. Make sure you get rid of every thing. Don't just move them to a different file becuase it will stil trail a location path. Delete everything and put everything you don't want to delete on a disk and reload them once the problems have been fixed.

This is caused due to the problem that you have custom maps with ubersound in it. With pakscape or winzip, open the custommap.pk3 and delete the ubersound folder. Then you get all your sounds back.
