Rain in map

Post by mrlader »

Hey guys this is my first attempt at weather effects in a map. I want to take Algiers and add either rain or snow into the map. I dont care if it involves making the map a custom map. As I understand it i will have to decompile the map and use Radient to do it which is fine but I don't know much about Radient or even how to decompile a map. Please help a total n00b out. Thanks :D

You can forget decompiling it... a decompile is jus an aproximation and will look lice crap if you re-compile it.

No idea here but I dont see why you couldent spawn a box of func_rain and call weather.scr? Anyone? Can it be that simple?

Check:
/tutorials/rain.php
and
/tutorials/snow.php
...to see how wether is done from scratch )

Well... to my knowledge thats impossible Serph, as a bsp file does not contain all the information in a map file... But its very possible you have a better decompiler than I do. What decompiler is it?

Rain

Adding this line to the script will make it sound like it is raining and there will be (slightly blue) flashes.

exec global/weather.scr 3500 (0.333 0.333 0.359)
