looking for a model of light that is turned off

Post by m4rine »

I am building a night map and have an outdoor light, which can be switched off by a light switch. Even though the actual light (right-click-->light has turned off, you can still see a glow from the light model in the dark, which makes it look like youv'e just turned down the brightness of the light instead of turned it off. The light model doesnt actually give off any light, it just glows. I have tried all outside light models for this (like streetlamps and the ones that hang off walls and stuff) but they all seem to have this problem. I was wondering if there was one I could download or something, or how to stop this from happening. Help would be much appreiciated

It might just be that the texture looks like that, or it could be a property of the texture used on the models, which means you'd have to hunt throught the shaders to find out if this is so.

one thing u may want to do is make the switch a trigger that turns the brightness to 0 (or ur desired brightness level) if u already do that - i got nothing mroe to say.
