will disabled ai attack?

Post by bdbodger »

is it possible to have an ai attack while disabled do that he attacks only the person specified and then stops attacking so that he attacks only the one person and after that person dies he does nothing I mean he does not try to attack anyone else or attack anyone that gets in the way . Also how does tether work for ai's .

if his ai is disabled, you can do this

$myaiguy aimat $target
$myaiguy waittill animdone
$myaiguy fire

when you tether an ai to an object, they try to stick within the "leash" radius during combat... so if they are tethered to the player, and the player advances forward during the firefight, the ai will want to advance with him, since the player is the leash home.

well thanks but not exacly what I wanted , you see my idea is to use the clickitem fail used in the scouting mod and a dog in a MP map . What will happen is you use the use key on a dog that is turned off , this will turn him on and you will get the binoculars and loose your weapons . The dog will be disabled so that he does not run away and I have a custom script to make him follow you . Your weapon is the dog and you choose the victim by useing the fire button while looking through the binoculars . I know I can do all this but can I get the dog to attack the choosen victim and then return to me ? I might just have the dog follow me if his thinkstate is not attack so I can lead him where I want him or he can be my sidekick .
