ok, I reformatted my computer yesterday, and now I go to install moh and I get an error some corruption.. now I was really surprised, because I take very well care of my CD's and theres not a single scratch on them..
Now my request is,
If ne1 who is willing to burn a copy of medal of honor allied assault and send it to me, I do not need a cd-key cuz i have my own, as I bought it, I live in ontario canada, and i dont think it breaks any laws because i have my own serial number.
Now if you need proof that I have a copy or something, I can send pictures, of the boxes, and the error that pops up when i try to install and stuff......
I guess I'd be looking at the people from the Toronto area.. so it would only cost 47 cents or so to send it..
if someone can do this id be so gratefull, as absence from moh could be really bad...
thx
help! / request / oh :'( ***CRY***

perhaps some bad news....
Serph,
I hope someone proves me wrong BUT, when I tried to burn my CD for a backup copy.................the burn in program would not allow the copy!
I think.... they (EAGAMES) may have implemented something on the disk,
so that MOH cannot be copied. I use Adaptec Easy Creator CDROM Burn
in program with a 24X Plextor CDROM burner drive. And it usually will make copies with no problem. I'll try again to see if I can make a copy just to prove to myself what I am saying is true. Hope for your sake I am
not correct on this matter.
hang in there

Some bad news unfortunatly....
Serph,
What I did as a follow up is the following:
Tried to burn in a MOH:AA copy to two different blanks (WHERE I KNOW
the blanks are both clean and 100% empty). I tried to make the copy
using three different type copies, for example.....
1) 4X DISK-TO-DISK IMMEDIATE (with no error checking) to just see if
the burner would make a full copy with no errors.
2) 4X ....blah blah with error checking etc...
I did this with a 640MB R/W blank and then with a 700MB R/W...... and
as I mentioned previously.......when I originally purchased the package
I had tried to burn a copy with a new R ONCE 750MB as well as with
R/W Blanks of various sizes (and manufactures)!
RESULT:
I cannot make a copy of the main MOH:AA CDROM disk.
I get an error message that tells me that by all indications the company had the CDROM burner process include a FAKE track number so that one cannot make copies.......it tricks the CDROM Burner programs in thinking
it is writing to a track that is identical to the original....positionally... so that the end result is that you get a failure.
Here is the error message I get every time I try to make a copy:
D0100: I/O Error [ 05/64/00 ] - Command Error - illegal mode for this track T7124
This tells me they put in a fake track number when they burn in the platters.............where the copying program as it tries to keep track of which track it is copying, comes unto a track that is non-existent... that is...... the track simply does not exist on the original, so the program at that point cannot match track for track so the copying process fails.
I deliberatly made the copies using the slowest transfer speed, and did not ask the program to use my systems hard disk to create a temporary
/temp file that it copies from the original to copy to the destination. I did this to minimize the copying procedure so that it had a better chance of success.
Sorry to report this to you. But it looks as if we are all in the same boat!
When the MOHAA main disk goes bonzai...... we will no longer be able to play the game.
Perhaps your only recourse would be to send the failing CDROM along with a letter to the company and see if they would be willing to send you
a new one. In which case you will unfortunately be required to re-install yet again from scratch. Sorry to have to report this stuff to you. Sorry
for you and the rest of us.
