"Vemork ferry" in progress pics

Post by Bjarne BZR »

Here are some pics of the upcoming "Vemork Ferry" map from "The Rjukan Project". This time Random is the main mapper, and I ( Bjarne ) am mostly annoying him with "helpful" comments.
History section at 'The Rjukan Project' wrote:The extensive bombing in November the previous year resulted in a complete shutdown of the heavy water plant. The equipment was taken apart and sent to Germany. The remains of the heavy water, about 40 barrels, were to be transported by train. At one point the cargo had to be transported over a lake by ferry. In february 1944, the ferry "Hydro" was sunk on the Tinnsj?en lake. 3 saboteurs had managed to place a timed explosive in the stem. 4 German soldiers and 14 civilian Norwegians lost their lives.

Here is the railway ferry "Hydro" that is the main objective that the allies should sabotage /sink:

And finally: the engine room where the allies should place the explosive charge:

...so, what do you think so far. All comments are welcome.

Oh no! The ferry has been taken over by a gang of tank-wagons!

I'll see if I cant persuade Random to post some shots from the actual map as well...

v nice man...

i mean the boat is COMPLETELY FANTASTIC!

GR8 nothin wrong..

all i think is odd, is the outside, i mean the water, you can clearly see it is a box of water hmmm.

But the boat..WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW gr8.

MAYBE for our side.
1) ADD THICK FOG
2) add the HIGGINS WAVES
this will make the setting foggy and look like the boat is moving, also if foggy, you won't see the water edges, it will blend in! :)

that is SOOO fab men WELL DONE
...prepare for your finest hour...

Thanx LT.BARNES! :D

But yes, The old booze-hound is correct: It is just a compile from the map where I'm making a prefab of the "Hydro" for Random :)

In the actual map, the ferry will be docked at the berth in "Tinnoset".

Oh its gonna be docked.. cuz I had an idea where say the allies must not only protect the ship, but pilot it to a dock and unload the tank wagons via forklifts or something.
