I have been tweaking a weapon that has a custom shell tik.
Generates a nice explosion, a bit like grenade but bigger and badder.
The question is: How does the game handle the different texture types.
For example when a nade goes off in water it makes a nice splash.
I have made a grass explosion which is a bit like the sand explosions on Omaha but I am not sure how the game triggers it.
Does anyone of the smart cookies here know?
AWESOME explosions

Bzzzz
Correct, the explosions in Omaha are scripted.
What I want to know is how come the grenade explodes with a splash when in water but not on land.
A water shader has a surfaceparm water, so can I create a new surfaceparm? Is that possible?

?
I think you may be wrong about that.
There are FX tiks that handle bullet hits on various
surface types, metal, wood, water.
I was of the understanding that there is bullet or grenade impact
types but for various textures.
I wanted to create a new one called LAND that uses a custom tik when hit by grenade.
So it's probably not possible but every time I say that, some smart cookie comes along with a fix
Anyone?????
