Which Graphics Card ?

Post by Jack Ruby »

Well I have an ATI Radeon VE 64mb. I have come to the conclusion thats its crap. I love the dual display capabilities but the FPS when I play Mohaa are totally rubbish. I was playing Ardennes on spearhead earlier, I was getting 6 FPS, yes 6 !

So my question is can anyone recommend a good graphics card, almost certainly it has to be dual display, I got so used to having all this room that I dont want to do without it. I guess if there is no way around it at all I would settle for one monitor but I really dont want to. Would there be any way to run two graphics cards, my VE for work, another card for games ?

Which one ? links would be nice :)

Thanks in advance.

After hunting around, this was the one I thought was best for features and price, I dont care about it being a brand name, they all get made in the same place anyways...

Its A Gforce FX5600 256 AGP 8X, with dual display for ?138, sounds good to me, anyone seen a better one ?

overclockers ar bad. if you read pc zone and have the 10th issue look at watchdog and you'll know why.

Well I know a few people that had no problems with overclockers, the only other place I could find with the card was www.dabs.com,

I was just about to order from them when I read a bunch of reviews here..

So after reading that I went with overclockers, only two suppliers ? maybe we should build a site selling stuff too :)

WOOHOO ! Just installed the card :) everything works perfectly, I had to run mohaa with all the settings low or minimum on the old card, I just turned everything up to max at 1024x768 and its FLYING, 80 fps in the middle of the street on the hunt, I used to get around 10-12 :)

Fantastic, I doubt it will make me a better player but at least it all looks beautiful :)

hehe, congrats on ur new gfx card!
I've got a Radeon 9700 Pro, and it looks amazingly nice on all high settings including the 1600x1280 Res... (19" monitor)
But guess what!? Im running it with all lowest settings, and resolution is 640x480
