Finding a texture and the brush it is applied to?

Post by silversound »

I have a map that should be all caulk, but the texture window shows a few extra textures. I take it these must be a the last remaining strays. I need to know if there is a function to select a texture type and the brush or brushes it is applied to. I have seen ...edit_find/replace texture, but how does it work. Does this even do what I want to do?

I realize there is a forum "search" function, but it seems to come up with tons of things I don't need in my search. I will look again, but any help would be great.
PM me your tips of the day.

Ok in the find replace go to the texture in the texture window and find the evil texture(or just the one you want to replace) select it and hit S for surface inspector. Copy paste the name and path and enter it into find and repeat for the caulk so it should look something like:

find: general_structure/bunkerdoor3
replace: common/caulk

then hit ok that should do it.

What if I just want to find it and delete the brush it's on? I am not worrid about the texture, I just want to use that to find the brush.

First select the face of the brush that has that texture. Next in the selection menu choose select all from texture.
