Ropes to climb LOD

I am making a clif of lod terrain and I want to have ropes to climb it. Can I create a ropelike brush and use the ladder function to have them climb the ropes?

There is a rope texture I have never tried it because it shows up in the texture window with the notexture texture . There is a ladder called a jacobs ladder that is wood steps and rope rails they use them on ships to lower over the side . Of course func ladder will work even if there is no apparent ladder but you need something to let the player know you can climb here .
