Give the door a targetname (key N) like "door1" and set the checkboxes for "targeted". Then make a trigger_multiple and set the following key/value for it.
Key: target
Value: door1
A red line should show up between the trigger and the door. The door will open when a player walks into the trigger.
You waill have to say what type trap you want.

yeah there is, if players come nearby the door opens if you use it, but if you use a targeted door with trigger multiple you can make it that it opens from a different point (further away etc.)
It is still a little vague, but you can make any brush into a script_object and set the NOT_SOLID flag for it (key N). Then a player can fall though it into a pit of spikes or whatever.

yep, and you can make it that you can only open a door from one side (make the door targeted only and place the trigger use at one side of the door) so that someone is locked inside if the door close. you can also make invinsible ladders if you want or moving platforms etc.
I think he means "Kill players", not trap them in a room they can't get out of. Now if you want to see a good trap, look at this screenshot! Fire shoots out and kills the player when he breaks that window, ha ha.
