Trigger problems

Post by Lone_Rebel »

Whenever I put a trigger_multiple in my map to trigger something it does not work when you walk through it. I followed the AI Patrol tutorial on this site exactly and it does not work. I also have tried it as a trigger to make it rain, and i ran through the trigger like 50 times, then left came back and it started to rain. Is there a reason my trigger wouldnt work? :?:

How do you create your trigger? What keys do you give it? targetname? setthread?

I made a brush where I wanted the trigger then in 2d mode i right clicked and went to trigger then multiple. In the AI patrol one the target is badguy like in the tutorial. the setthread thing I didnt see anything about in the tutorial. In the script though I have "thread badguy1move" like the tutorial says. I am pretty much a noob at scripting maps, this is my first attempt at a SP map.

Cant see any faults with your trigger... do you get any errors in the console when running the map?

About the func_rain: maby you did not wait long enough... rain is often configured to pulsate in "strength", and if you have a high brush: it may take a while for the rain to reach its bottom ( because it starts at the top and falls... you know... like rain ;) )

Try adding key / value:

message / yay my trigger works

(do not add quotes (" ") around the message!)

will do

Post by Lone_Rebel »

with the rain it was in a prison cell in the map I am making (just felt like trying it out) so it didnt have far to fall. I will try the message thing to check that my trigger is ok though. I will try doing something else that involves a trigger, i might have set the rest up wrong or something.
