One can only hope to be so lucky. There are so many good mappers out there already it would be unthinkable that they would want to come down and offer me a job, but just incase someone does happen to read this, I Will Work for very little $$

Also i cant take all the credit here Bjarne is responsible for Hydro and the heavy water tanks as well as much of the technical data i recieved to create such a lush terrain.

BTW Bjarne wheres my photos of Lake Tinn dammit!! I dont think it will help much now but who knows i may see something in there i can use to make this asthetically pleasing and realistic at the same time.

Thanks for the great comments gents it should be released soon im just waiting for our group to upload it on a server so we can test it out and see what we got here. Shouldnt be long now.

Veeery nice, I like historic maps so much more than just pure imagination. No LOD, nice one, what ya use there, easygen ?

So whats the score with using brush terrain ? Does it keep fps higher than using lod or patches, patches seem to eat up my machine, lod seems not too bad, I played with brushes but never got any further.

I know that ferry got blown up in the lake, so is this the last of the series ? If so its a cool package, how many maps now 4-5 ?

Good work fellas :)

ps. Does anyone from EA even know we exist, they should just come hire a bunch of us, I KNOW we could produce nicer work than the stuff they sell us :)
Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

Actually its called Gensurf and i think the good folks at TMT turned me onto that one. And as far as using the brush terrain its purely preference for this project. I think i could have created a terrain that was just a complex with LOD or patches and terrain might have been easier to do, but i dont like the averaging effect that takes place when using the others. As i hinted to in my other post i hate it when i drop my gun over a patch and the dam thing dissappears and i get shot while dancing around lookin for it. (Does anyone know what i am talking about) Also some in the group i play mohaa with have outdated vid cards. Many times they are confused because they can see you but cant hit you due to the fact they have their settings turned down and the ground appears to be not there when it is there. Or with LOD terrain i have have been told there are several spots on stock and custom maps where it appears a player is under the terrain but they are not or you appear to float over the ground. I tried it once and turned down my settings and sure enough they were right. I think there is a way to turn the priority of the detail of the terrain no matter what the settings but that would mean death by bad frame rates to those player. I guess what i am trying to say is that i was trying to take into consideration everyone this time. (Note to self gotta redo lighting in Watten when i do the sneaky doors version so i dont have to change shadow complexity everytime i play my map.)

Oh back to the topic at hand it doesnt matter what method you use i guess LOD Patches and brushes all have their perks and all can kill fps if used improperly.

Just a few Random thoughts

ps he he i made a funny pun there
