MOH:AA Tutorial Pack

Post by smartaiguy »

I'm going to start assembling a tutorial pack, Ive got a bunch of my own. Most tuts will have a example map. Tell me what you think of this.

Also if anyone wants to contribute anything for this let me know

You are welcome to add any of mine that you find in my storage folder.

However, most of them don't have readme files and are just example maps. They do include text versions of the scripts and playable pk3s.

OK thanks tltrude I'll be sure to credit you!! :D

I'll just make a tut for them and then include your example map with it.

OK here's some of my ideas

Zip everything up

have a main index.htm file that you can go to any of the tuts.

I'll probably upload the file to fileplanet.com or somewhere (Do you think this will work)?

I might also upload an online version. But a offline version is always nice, plus you get all the example maps in one nice package.

Tell me what you think.
Any suggestions?

Thats a very cool idea, especially with a bunch of tltrudes example maps. Though how your gonna make tutes for them I have no clue, I love what he does but have no clue how he scripts that stuff, I just cannot get my head around scripting at all, enough to comment out stuff but not enough to write anything of my own.

An offline version would be fantastic, I always save good tutes to my hard drive, if when I started out I could have downloaded an all inclusive zip with an html file to work my way around and example maps I would have been very happy.

I think it has to include say a wall that you can shoot over when crouched, doors, windows, clip textures, caulk, mitres, water, static models and clipping some of them, worldspawn settings, a bit of lod and something about patches, that would cover most of what you need to know, though a comprehensive guide is almost impossible for one man, so be sure to add links to the relevant topics in this very forum as I think every question you can think up has already been answered here :)
Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

yes, it might take a while to complete them, but tltrude and jv_map have let me use parts of their tuts. Thanks guys! Also as for writing tuts for tltrudes maps basically I've gotten up to intermediate level tuts so I basically tell what to do, not a step by step guide so I could just include them as an example.
