Post by Asgard »

I just started mapping, its more like messing around etc but anywayz, i started with help from friends, built my own room, hallway, sky all really simple. I made a door but i think i can still get through if i was 5 times bigger....

Where can i find a page that gives me the acctual size of a door or the size of a wall like in the sniperhouse on the hunt, when u duck u can just C over it and stuff.

Pls help :s

P.S.: I FINALLY GOT MY MOHRADIANT WORKING !!!
had to buy a new computer though...

16 units = 1ft

Here are some common dimensions

Player 112 high x 32 wide
Crouching 64 high x 32 wide
Door: (common) 128 x 64 x 8 (height x width x depth)

8ft wall - 128 units
9ft wall - 144 units
10ft wall - 160 units

For others basically times the number of feet you think it should be by 16 and you get your units!

Doors.... Func_Rotatingdoor, then enter this.. key:alwaysaway Value:1
Now the bit the tuts don't say, if your door is at an angle of 90 or 270 then select either for the angle in the Entity, same if it is facing 180 or 360.. Remember to do the side texture of your door so it looks like a door. By this i mean, to many mappers make doors with one texture, thats ok, but the sides have the same texture sqeezed on it as well....

To select individual faces on 'one' brush is simple.

Do the following:

Hold Ctrl + Shift + Left mouse button (one click)

Do this on the face you want to select in whatever view you want, i prefer to do it in 3d view!

If done right alwaysaway does work but you need to set the angle right too . example o--> where o is the origin set angle 90 or 270 the angle you want the door to open to not the angles the door is already at ! .

^
l
o

set angle at 0 or 180 . and make sure alwaysaway is spelt right it is easy to leave out a s or an a .
alwaysalway never works for me
no it doesn't does it . :)
