{RSHA} Birkenau Map Release

Post by Franaticus Satanii »

I guess I posted in the wrong forum due to the Map Review Forum being on hold.

Would my fellow .MAP folks care to give me a constructive critique on my first map please?

Here is an excerpt from the Map Review forum as not to flood:
FAQ's:

- TDM
- MOH:AA

It is based upon Birkenau site plans downloaded from museum sites on the internet. The map has areas for everyone's fighting style niche. Open areas for snipers, buildings for outdoor guerilla warefare, and indoor areas (some secret rooms) for explorers and campers. It also includes some dog BOTs thanks to a modified script by bdbodger (thanks BTW).

Some surprises are in and around the map such as electrified fences, working gas chambers, etc.

Thanks to tltrude, bdbodger, wacko, and general_disarray for their continued help and support getting through all the scripting.

I would appreciate any critques to make my next map that much better. Thanks all at .MAP.

I apologise for no screenshots...I can't finger out how to make them work...

Nice electric fence! Too bad the frame rate (FPS) is so low in some spots.

Nice!!

As for screenshots type screenshot into the console. You can also bind it like this:

bind F12 "screenshot"

in the console.

Nice map though!

I don't know how to get the screenshots into this thread. I really don't have anywhere online where I can store them for a URL reference.

FYI I did post my map at www.mapraider.com with 10 good screenshots though.

Thanks tltrude, that fence was just a little something a friend helped me work out....oh hey....it was you! :D I gave all the proper respect in the first post and written within the script file itself. Thanks for ALL your help and guidance....you da man!

We've run this map with about 12 people in it. Some spots the FPS is slow, but insofar as the playability is concerned, it's outstanding! Spawn spots are good, Goodies abound!

Definitely a sniper's paradise!
