mac compatable maps?

Post by Machu »

Hey, I have a question. What makes a map compatable with macintosh computers? We have a Windows computer and two macs and we network them together. Some maps downloaded off the internet work and some don't. I've also noticed that all the maps I make on our Windows computer seem to work with macs.

Tnx :D

I think it is the .min file. Some mappers have learned to add that file to their pk3 for the Apple users, but some haven't. If you run the maps that don't work on the Windows computer, the game will make a .min file for the map. It will be in the main/maps/dm or obj folder. If you copy it, or the whole folder, over to your Apple, it should work.

However do not forget to make a new .min file before you release the map! After you changed something the .min file isn't valid anymore (for mac users that is), so before release make sure you remove the current .min file and run the map one more time just to be sure the .min file you're going to include in the pk3 is up to date.
