In Game Chat Access

Post by Obergefreiter »

I am assuming the In-Game chat for MOH AA SH BT is standard Internet Relay Chat correct????

I want to be able to login to the chat without logging into the MOH server is this possible? That way I can use mIRC and monitor game chat without being a player. I suspect I would need to know the IP and Port used and whether the Chat requires a login sequence. Does anyone know if this is possible???

Thanks

You can make a log of the console by typing in "logfile 1" before you join as a spectator. It creates a file named "qconsole.log" in Mohaa/main.

How long you stay depends on what time the host has set (default is 15 minutes as a spectator).

The ingame chat is not normally a separate program, although some clans do use them (mostly voice chat).

Hope that helps!

There's an mirc script that you can either connect stright to the server with RCON and IP, or if you're gaming your self on the server it will read your qconsole.log... has very nice and clean color-coding output...
Features it also has:
Say - on or off
+more

Also there's another thing... you can type things in mohaa like,
\irc #channel /me slaps 'name' with a big trout

and that will type it out in the specified channel... but i'll get back to you on this one tomorrow, its late now (0500am) time for bed ;)

It appears that there is an undocumented console cmd called IRC??? that makes standard IRC commands available in-game??? very cool. This looks like exactly what I wanted. I will try this out tonite.

Thanks
