.mus files
Is there any way that I can listen to them, or do I just have to keep putting them into my .scr and loading my map until I hear one that I like? There has to be an easier way.

Right all the .mus files do is give them parms and refer to their location so look in pak3 at the location in the .mus file points to.

There are sound files in Pak3, but I'm talking about the music files in Pak0. I've tried opening them before with Winamp and Windows media player, but they don't recognize the file type. The only way that I've been able to hear them is through the use of "exec global/ambient.scr *", where * is the name of the music file.Krane wrote:Most of the sounds are inside Pak3.pk3. You can open this file using PakScape. Then just listen with windows media player.

.mus
A ".mus" file is a text file that sets up the sounds/music that will be played for the map named. You can rename a .mus file to .txt and look at it with Notpad. The music files (mp3 files) are in main/sounds/music.

Right, all .mus files should have a .wav or mp3 pair.

Yeah, I should have realized that sooner, but the names aren't exactly the same between the two sets, so I thought that they were two different groups of files.

Well, that makes sense, considering I was using them with "exec global/ambient.scr"...
