fix

Instead of asking which work, why not ask how to fix the one you want to use? Africanight, norway_dawn, d-day2, and lighthouse work ok. Africanight has moving clouds.

I have never gotten far into changing the textures models use. But, it is probably done in the ".tik" file for the sub's conning tower. Making new textures is done with a graphics program--like Adobie Photoshop.

Skys are made from 5 or 6 textures with names that end with dn, up, lt, rt, bk, and ft. A sky shader file puts them all together to make the sky look right in the game. Sky textures are in the textures/env folder of pak2, and the sky shaders are in the scripts folder of pak0 (the one sky.shader file has many sky shaders). Some of the sky texture files are missing, and some of the shaders are incomplete.

Sounds like you are trying to use a texture that is not ment to be used as sky. Sky textures will look tiled in the editor, but shouldn't look that way in the game. Apply the sky texture to a hollow box (sky box) that surrounds your map. Do not worry about applying caulk to the outside of the brushes.
Note: Type "sky" in the text window at the top of the editor to see all the textures.
